Start with the location, not a diagnosis.
You do not need to identify a species before making an enquiry. Tell the provider your town, property type and where you have seen activity. “Small insects around the sink each evening” gives a clearer starting point than a guess at the cause.
Keep a simple record.
If you already have photographs, include them. Note when you first saw the signs and whether they appear in one room or several. Avoid handling unknown insects or disturbing suspected termite activity just to collect evidence.
Explain how the space is used.
A home with pets, a café preparing food and a warehouse receiving deliveries need different planning. Mention working hours, shared building areas and access restrictions. This helps the provider explain what an inspection would involve.
Ask what to expect.
Before agreeing to a visit, ask about availability, inspection charges if any, and whether a written proposal follows. Before treatment, obtain the method, preparation and re-entry instructions from the appointed operator.
